Where will 2027’s pressure points lie in European investment grade, and how should investors position themselves? In this webinar, 9fin’s IG reporter Alex Kozul-Wright was joined by a panel of experts at the centre of the euro credit market: Song Jin Lee, global head of credit strategy at HSBC, Giulio Baratta, global co-head of IG finance at BNP Paribas, and Marco Baldini, global co-head of IG syndicate at Barclays. Together, they unpacked a year of sharply higher government yields and record European primary issuance, and what that means for issuers and investors over the next 12 months. They covered whether higher yields are now a given for corporates, whether a solid earnings backdrop justifies current spread valuations or complacency is the bigger risk, and whether the market can absorb AI infrastructure, defence and green transition funding at the same time. They also examined how French pre-funding ahead of April’s presidential election could distort Q4 supply, and what else might upset the usual year-end slowdown.
